Pharmacy services, prescription processing, and protected health information may also be governed by HIPAA, applicable state law, and East Side Pharmacy’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Contact and identifying information: This may include your name, telephone number, email address, mailing or delivery address, date of birth when required for a pharmacy service, and information identifying an authorized caregiver or representative.
- Pharmacy-service information: This may include information submitted in connection with a refill, prescription transfer, delivery request, medication packaging request, appointment request, or other pharmacy service.
- Prescription and health-related information: Service-specific forms may request prescription information, current pharmacy information, prescriber information, insurance information, medication information, or other health-related information needed to evaluate or process a request.
- Account and transaction information: When website accounts or online shopping features are available, we may collect account credentials, order history, billing and delivery information, product selections, and transaction records.

- Investigate suspected fraud, misuse, or unauthorized activity.
- Improve website performance, usability, and services.
- Maintain records and comply with legal, regulatory, accreditation, contractual, and pharmacy requirements.
- Support quality assurance and pharmacy operations.
Submitting a request through the website does not guarantee that a prescription will be filled, transferred, renewed, delivered, covered by insurance, available by a particular time, or determined to be clinically appropriate.
Pharmacy personnel may need to verify the request, confirm patient identity, contact a prescriber or current pharmacy, review insurance information, assess medication availability, or request additional information before acting.
4. HIPAA and Protected Health Information
Information submitted through a pharmacy-service form may constitute protected health information when it relates to an identifiable patient and the provision of pharmacy services.
When HIPAA applies, East Side Pharmacy will use and disclose protected health information as permitted or required by applicable law and as described in its HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. East Side Pharmacy also complies with the Texas Medical Records Privacy Act (Tex. Health & Safety Code ch. 181).
Your protected health information may be subject to electronic disclosure. Except for treatment, payment, health care operations, or as otherwise authorized by law, we will not electronically disclose it without your authorization. We do not sell it or use it for marketing without your authorization.
The Website Privacy Policy and acceptance of a website form do not constitute a separate HIPAA authorization for uses or disclosures that legally require a valid written authorization.
A copy of the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices may be requested at the pharmacy or accessed through the pharmacy website.
5. Website Forms and Email
Website forms and email addresses are intended for routine, non-emergency communications. They are not monitored 24 hours a day, and responses may take 3 business days.
Do not use the website, an ordinary email, or a general contact form for:
- Medical emergencies.
- Urgent clinical concerns.
- Suspected overdose.
- Severe allergic reactions.
- Urgent prescription needs.
Call 911 or obtain immediate medical assistance for an emergency. For suspected poisoning or overdose, you may also call Texas Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222. For an urgent medication-related concern, call the pharmacy directly at 903-354-0231.
When you submit a form, you authorize East Side Pharmacy to review the information and respond using the contact information you provide. The pharmacy may use a different communication method when needed to verify identity, protect privacy, or appropriately address the request.
No website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Only provide information requested by the applicable form.
Information submitted through website forms is delivered to a monitored East Side Pharmacy email account and is accessed only by authorized pharmacy personnel, including the Pharmacist in Charge, for the purpose of reviewing and responding to your request. The pharmacy uses reasonable safeguards designed to protect this information, including access controls and secure transmission methods where supported.
Please do not include medical records, prescription numbers, insurance information, or other sensitive health information in the additional information field of a form. If you choose to include such information, it will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Website Technologies
The website may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:
- Remembering user preferences.
- Detecting malicious or unauthorized activity.
- Measuring website traffic and performance.
- Diagnosing technical problems.
- Improving usability and accessibility.
Some cookies are necessary for website functionality. Other analytics or optional technologies may depend on the tools configured on the website and the choices made available through any cookie-consent mechanism.
East Side Pharmacy does not intentionally use protected health information submitted through pharmacy-service forms for third-party behavioral advertising or disclose it to analytics or advertising tools without authorization.
7. Calls, Emails, Text Messages, and Service Communications

Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier.
Service-related communications are different from promotional communications. East Side Pharmacy will obtain any consent legally required before sending automated marketing text messages or other promotional communications requiring additional consent.
You may request that optional promotional communications stop. A request to stop promotional communications does not prevent the pharmacy from sending legally permitted or necessary service, safety, prescription, transaction, or account messages.
Email and text messages are not encrypted and may be accessed by others while in transit or on your device. For this reason, East Side Pharmacy will limit the health information included in emails and text messages, and may ask you to call the pharmacy to discuss details of your request.
By selecting email or text message as your preferred method of contact, you acknowledge and accept this risk. You may change your preferred method of contact at any time by contacting the pharmacy.
